Mushrooms and bacon make a lovely pair. It can't get simpler than this recipe. Use toothpicks to hold the bacon in place while cooking. I usually have to make a double batch of this party favourite to satisfy our guests. These go great with a glass ot two of Chardonnay , such as the dry and bright King Valley 2006 Chardonnay Or perhaps you may like to enjoy another of our White Wines.
- 25 rashers of bacon
- 25 mushrooms
- Preheat oven to 200ºC.
- Wrap each mushroom with a strip of bacon, and secure with a toothpick. Arrange the mushrooms on a medium baking tray.
- Bake approximately 15 minutes in preheated oven, until the bacon is evenly cooked. Serve hot.
Tip - a dash of Worchester or BBQ sauce on each mushroom is a nice touch.

We chose our King Valley 2006 Chardonnay with aromas and flavours of lemon and minerals on the palate. You could also try our elegant Margaret River 2008 Chardonnay with a hint of clean citrus. or maybe another White Wine
